We all know how important a good lunch is for our kids, and sandwiches are a quick, easy, and healthy way to fill your kid’s bellies with good food! Our team has gathered up our top 3 simple yet hearty sandwich recipes that feature our Signature Multigrain Bread. You may be surprised to hear this, but kids LOVE our multigrain bread, so we’ve created some tasty and nutritious sandwiches your kids are sure to enjoy.


The Classic T&T (Turkey & Tomato) Sandwich

What You’ll Need:

  • Backerhaus Signature Multigrain Bread
  • Sliced Cheddar Cheese
  • Turkey Deli Meat
  • Fresh Romaine Lettuce
  • Tomato
  • Mayo

You can probably guess how to make this sandwich, right? Get all of those yummy ingredients, slap it together, and you’ve got yourself a classic T&T! We love simple sandwiches like this because it really lets the bread shine.

Apple & Brie on Multigrain

What You’ll Need:

  • Backerhaus Signature Multigrain Bread
  • Brie Cheese
  • 1 Apple
  • Bacon Strips

If you are looking for a sandwich that both you and your kids can enjoy, we may just have the perfect combination for you! We love the use of apples on this sandwich because it gives you that extra sweet crunch that is oh so perfect for the fall.

Start by frying up some bacon, and while that is cooking, wash and thinly slice your apple. The thin slices are key to make this sandwich super enjoyable and easy to eat. Once your bacon is done cooking, remove the excess grease with a paper towel and begin preparing your sandwich.

For this sandwich, you will lay your bacon down first to act as a base. Next take thin slices of brie cheese, topped with your apple slices, and close off with a second piece of bread. You will definitely be craving this sandwich the next day after just one bite!


The Classic Grilled Cheese

What You’ll Need:

  • Backerhaus Signature Multigrain Bread
  • Butter
  • Cheddar Cheese (or Marble, Old Cheddar, Swiss, or a combo)!
  • Frying Pan

You truly can’t go wrong with the classics, and this grilled cheese sandwich is no exception! Whether you are layering multiple types of cheese or sticking with some good ‘ol Cheddar, we have a secret to keep your grilled cheese warm, even when sitting inside a lunchbox.

Take boiling water and pour it into your thermos, yes, that thermos! Let it sit in there and keep warm while you make your sandwich. Start with a buttered pan, plus butter on each side of your multigrain bread. Layer on your cheese, top with the second piece of buttered bread, and continue flipping until your cheese is melted and your bread is nice and toasted.

Cut up your sandwich into bite-sized pieces, or in half, and place it to the side. Next, untwist your thermos and pour out the water into your sink. Dry the inside of the thermos and place your sandwich slices inside. Seal it up and get ready to enjoy a nice, warm, cheesy, wonderful sandwich for lunch!
