With more than seven decades of bread-making experience, Sabine Veit, granddaughter of the bakery's founder, has brought this passion for artisan bread baking to North America. Sabine's commitment to handcrafted quality and authentic taste is the inspiration for her new line of signature breads now being sold under the BV brand.

Each Veit family recipe in the BV line uses only the finest natural ingredients, and follows the traditional German artisan bread-making process , passed down over three generations of Veits.

The seeds and grains used in each loaf are hand picked and soaked in water before baking to allow for maximum nutritional benefit and digestibility . Wholesome unbleached flour is blended to Bäckerhaus Veit specifications, and our dough is given the time and temperature needed to develop before it is patiently hand shaped, cut, proofed and baked.

Since the first Bäckerhaus Veit bakery opened its doors just outside of Stuttgart, Germany, in 1927, baking methods have remained relatively unchanged. Over the past 75 years, modern efficiencies and technology have been carefully selected and integrated into the bakery without altering the Old World tradition and craftsmanship that is essential to the artisan bread baking process. The result is a state-of-the-art facility with the flexibility of a small European village bakery.
